Youth Engagement Advisory Committee (YEAC)

The Youth Engagement Advisory Committee, formed in 2007, is made up of diverse youth, representing a cross-section of ages, cultural and socio-economic demographics.

The committee aims to increase the skills and leadership of Ajax youth, to provide them with opportunities for growth and to allow them to give their input on local youth issues.

YEAC organizes and participates in a number of events, including: Youth Week, food/toy drive, Youth Spaces events, Youth Spaces Study, corporate events, assistance with achieving Gold Status as a Youth Friendly Community.

The YEAC has been recognized by the Terry James Foundation and through Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration for their volunteerism.

Committee members commit to a one-year term (September to June). Applications are accepted each June.
