Finance Purchasing - Town of Ajax


The Town of Ajax's Purchasing Section under the Finance Department is responsible for the strategic acquisition of Goods/Services for the Town following strict by-laws and regulations.

Our purpose, goals and objectives are:

  • to encourage competition among suppliers;
  • to maximize savings for taxpayers;
  • to ensure service and product delivery, quality, efficiency and effectiveness;
  • to ensure fairness among bidders;
  • to ensure openness, accountability and transparency, while protecting the financial and operational best interests of the Town;
  • to have regard for the accessibility for persons with disabilities to the Goods/Services and Construction purchased by the Town.

For all Bid Opportunities issued as of February 1, 2017, the Town shall ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Bidding System website @

Suppliers can create an account, register for Bid Opportunities and submit Bids entirely on-line.

When creating an account, suppliers select commodity codes for goods, services and construction and the Bidding System will notify the supplier by email of any Bid opportunity matching their commodity code selection.

Suppliers who do not already have an account, are invited to purchase an unlimited annual subscription from eSolutions Group Bids & Tenders e-Procurement platform at  Suppliers who do less bidding have the option to pay a one-time fee per Bid download.  Bid documents can be pre-viewed online before payment is required. 

The unlimited annual subscription provides suppliers with the following benefits and services:

  • Unlimited access to register for all Bid Opportunities powered by eSolutions Group Bids & Tenders software across Canada;
  • Automatic notifications of new Bid Opportunities, addenda, site meeting reminders & bid results;
  • Unlimited use of on-line submissions, document downloads and addenda notices;
  • Unlimited category subscription for Bid matching;
  • Instant access to Bid results;
  • Customized vendor dashboard that allows quick access to active Bid Opportunities and Bid history;
  • Self-serve profile management;
  • Ability to add up to 10 contacts to your account;
  • Ability to register for the Emergency Contact database.
