Committee of Adjustment

The Committee of Adjustment is a body appointed by Town Council to consider requests for minor changes, or variance, to the Town's zoning by-law. The purpose of the Committee is to provide a forum for the expeditious and practical consideration of minor variances to the Town's by-law. The Committee considers matters of zoning variance which are often of the utmost importance to individual applicants, but which are not of sufficient magnitude to warrant the formal consideration of Town Council.

The Committee of Adjustment has five members appointed by Council and primarily Ontario's Planning Act and Regulations adopted to implement the Planning Act govern its responsibilities and conduct

Meetings of the Committee of Adjustment are usually held on the last Wednesday of each month in the Council Chambers, Town Hall - 65 Harwood Avenue South. Meetings are open to the public.

Meeting details, agendas and minutes are available through the Agendas & Minutes link on the menu to the left of this information.

For Committee of Adjustment Meeting information prior to January 1, 2012, please contact Sarah Moore, Committee Coordinator by phone (905-619-2529 extension 3347) or email.
