Council and Standing Committee Meetings

Ajax Council holds two standing committee meetings and one meeting of Council per month, typically on the first, second, and third Mondays of each month. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays if the Monday is a holiday. For information on the 2017 meeting schedule, please refer to the 2017 Meeting Schedule Calendar.

Community Affairs & Planning Committee (CAP)

Community Affairs & Planning Committee (CAP) deals with land use planning issues including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments and other Public Meetings deemed to require public consultation. All members of Council sit on the Committee. CAP usually meets the first Monday of the month, starting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 65 Harwood Ave. S.

General Government Committee (GGC) 

General Government Committee (GGC) deals with corporate matters including human resources, financial planning, contract awards, levels of service and policy matters. All members of Council sit on the Committee. The General Government Committee usually meets the second Monday of each month in the River Plate Room, Town Hall, 65 Harwood Ave. S. The Public Meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Closed Session.

Council

Council meets once a month to ratify the decisions of its committees, adopt by-laws, hear delegations from the public, and share news and updates from Council. Council meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month, starting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 65 Harwood Ave. S.

Agendas and Minutes

Meeting agendas and minutes are available through the Council and Committee Agendas & Minutes page. Agendas for Council and Committee meetings are posted 6 days prior to meetings. Draft minutes are posted 5-7 days after the meeting. Official minutes are posted once they have been approved by the appropriate committee.
