Ward Boundary Review - Town of Ajax

Ajax Ward Boundary Review

To ensure fair and equitable Council representation for Ajax residents,
new wards have been established for the 2018 municipal elections.

After an extensive ward boundary review and public consultation process, the Town will be changing its ward system to make room for an additional seat on Durham Regional Council in 2018. The change, which will take effect for the 2018 municipal election, ensures fair and equitable representation for residents.

The size of Ajax Council will not change, and will move from:

  • Four local councillors
  • Two regional councillors
  • The mayor

  • Three local councillors
  • Three regional councillors
  • The mayor

The selected boundary configuration respects the guiding principles set by Council, and reflects resident feedback received through the consultation process.
