The Town of Ajax holds Ajax Green Living Days every April as a multi-day event to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd and to help promote environmental awareness. Ajax Green Living Days has a variety of events for the whole family.

Friday, April 19
Mayor's 20-Minute Makeover
2 p.m.
Pre-register to join Mayor Steve Parish, members of Council, schools, businesses and community as we clean-up the town.

Eco Kids Movie: Disneynature's Chimpanzee
Main Branch Library
55 Harwood Ave. S.
6:30 p.m.
A 3-year-old chimpanzee is separated from his troop and then adopted by a fully-grown male in this heartwarming Disneynature documentary narrated by Tim Allen. With a running time of only 78 minutes, it's the perfect way for the whole family to celebrate Earth Day!

E-Waste Collection
Town of Ajax Operations Centre

8 a.m. - 12 p.m,
Drop off end-of-life or unwanted electronics for free recycling. E-Waste includes cell phones, audio & visual players, telephones, desktop computers, TVs, radio and more. For a full list of items, visit durham.com. Donations of non perishable food for the local food bank will also be collected.
Community Clean-up!
Lions Park

Join the Lions Club and help clean-up Lions Park. Bags and gloves will be provided. Free coffee & hot chocolate for clean-up participants. Support the Lions Club at the Pancake Breakfast following the clean-up (nominal fees apply).

Come out and help the Town build its urban forest! Bring your own water bottle, shovel, pail (limited shovels and pails available), and dress appropriately. Trees will be supplied.

Eco Kids: The Lorax

The Lorax speaks for the tress and you can too! Join us for a reading from The Lorax and other Earth Day activities Plant a seed to take home. Fun for kids ages 6+.

Earth Day - Monday, April 22
Family Nature Hike
Ajax Waterfront Trail
Veterans Point Garden (foot of Harwood Avenue)

Huge one of the oldest Oak trees in Ajax or maybe even spot nesting birds in the woodlot! Join the Toronto Region Conservation Authority and members of the Ajax Environmental Advisory Committee for this family friendly event as we explore the Ajax Waterfront. Please dress weather appropriate.

Compost Give Away

Pick-up compost material for your garden make from the contents of your green bin. Limit three full blue box containers of compost per person. Donations of non perishable food for the local food bank will also be collected.

Community Clean-up!
Clements Woodlot

10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Help clean-up Clements Woodlot. Bags and gloves will be provided. Gather at the Ajax Skate Park at 10 a.m.
Planning on holding a community clean-up?
Let us know about your community clean-up and the Town will be happy to assist, by providing gloves, bags and pick-up of gathered litter and large items for disposal.
