School Tree Planting Event 

Time: 9.30-11.30 a.m. or 12.30 2.30 p.m.
Location: Dennis O' Connor Park

Each year the Town hosts a schools tree planting event to encourage children to get outdoors and have some hands on experience enhancing the environment. We will provide the trees, shovels, gloves & mulch for the students; however, the responsibility of transporting the children will fall upon the individual school. We have the capacity for 300 students to attend the event (max 150 for each session).Register your school group to come out and plant trees!

Ajax Pickering Board of Trade- Eco Chat Business Network Opportunity

Time: 4.30-6.30 p.m.
Location: Audley Recreation Centre- 1955 Audley Rd

Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade presents Eco Chat. Are you passionate about sustainability? Come out and network with others who share your enthusiasm. Guest speaker Daniel Hoornweg, will also be sharing his thoughts. This event is open to members and non-members of the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade.

Friday, April 22, 2016  (EARTH DAY!)

20 Minute Makeover 

Time 2p.m.
Location: Townwide

Take part in the annual Townwide litter cleanup up. We will provide bags, gloves and garbage collection to those who particpate, plus groups receive a certificate of appreciation for their efforts. Please note that cleanup kits will need to be collected from the Ajax Operations Centre (800 Salem Rd North).  Deadline to register is Wednesday April 20th 2016

Community Tree Planting

Time 10 a.m. - 1p.m.
Location: Millers Creek Community Park

Our partners Forest Ontario and Honda Canada are kindly supporting us in planting 1,600 native tree and plants. We will provide the trees, shovels, gloves & snacks! Help increase trees in Ajax- high school students can even receive volunteer hours!

Native Plants and Invasive Species Workshop

Time 1.30 p.m.
Location: Ajax Main Library

Experts from Durham Master Gardeners are facilitating this hands on workshop that introduces you to native and invasive plant species in Ontario, as well as teach you how to identify and control invasive species in your garden. Staff from Toronto and Region Conservation will also highlight ways you can help you can get involved in your community. Participants will be entered into a draw to recieve a native plant prize pack!
