Street Light Outages - Town of Ajax

Streetlights - Reporting Problems

The Town of Ajax manages more than 9,500 streetlights. The Town contracts maintenance of all streetlighting to an external contractor who responds to all service complaints, replaces all defective bulbs and photo controls, repairs all aerial and underground streetlight faults, repairs all knocked-down streetlight poles and defective fixtures.

Streetlights throughout the Town are inspected twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall.  Residents who notice problems with streetlights are encouraged to call the Town of Ajax Operations Department at 905-683-2951 or complete the form below.

Problems reported by residents are forwarded to our streetlight contractor once a week.  Repairs of malfunctioning streetlights will be completed within 14 days of being notified of a problem.

Traffic signals at intersections and crosswalks are maintained by Durham Region. Please contact the Region of Durham at 905-668-7711 to report a traffic signal problem.
