Quick Tips

  • Place your grill on a level surface away from the home, deck railings, eaves and overhanging branches.
  • Keep the area behind your BBQ clear — this is where hot gases escape.
  • Propane and charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors.
  • Regularly clean the burners and base to prevent grease fires.
  • After barbecuing, turn off the gas valve first, then the burner controls to prevent gas from remaining in the hose.
  • Let the BBQ cool completely before closing the lid.
  • Avoid extinguishing cigarettes in flowerpots or planters, they often contain peat moss, shredded wood and bark that can easily ignite. Use a proper ashtray or a non-combustible metal container instead.
