In-person meetings are available for select Town services. For your convenience, the Town has introduced a new self-serve online appointment booking system.   

How to book:

  1. Select the service from the list below.
  2. Review the online calendar, and select an available date and time.
  3. Complete the booking form.
  4. Submit and an email confirmation will be sent automatically to your email.
  5. 24-hours before your scheduled appointment a reminder will be sent to confirm that allows you to re-schedule or cancel.

Arrival

Please arrive no more than five minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time (unless otherwise specified).

For appointments at Town Hall (65 Harwood Ave S.), please enter through the main doors off of the main parking lot. 

Face Masks
Masks are optional when entering Town of Ajax facilities, however The Town highly encourages the use of masks when physical distancing cannot be maintained. 
Physical Distancing
Please remember to keep a minimum of 2 metres (6 feet) away from others during your visit.

Building Approval Services

At this time we are booking appointments to answer general questions regarding building permit applications, permits, and inspections.

Please note that if you are enquiring about a basement apartment, deck, shed, building addition or new building, you will also need to speak with a representative from the Planning Section. Let us know in advance if you want to discuss one of these items and we can arrange to have a Planning representative at the appointment.

At this time we are booking appointments accepting Sediment & Erosion Control Permit Applications. These appointments are for customers needing to meet with an Engineering Representative in order to complete the permitting process.

Facility Booking

Facility bookings at select satellite facilities will be available as of September 14, including Carruthers Marsh Pavilion, Rotary Park Pavilion, Greenwood Discovery Pavilion, Quaker Meeting House and Hartrick House. 

Facility Rentals in the Ajax Community Centre, McLean Community Centre, Audley Recreation Centre, Village Community Centre and Seniors Centres and St. Francis will remain closed until further notice.  If you had a booking during this time frame, your permit will be cancelled and you will receive a refund, if applicable.

Marriage Licences

An appointment is required to process your marriage licence application.

Please bring a completed marriage licence application signed by both parties along with your ID and any supporting documents to your appointment. Please review the Marriage Licence requirements before booking an appointment

** Note: A marriage licence is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. We cannot issue a licence outside of this timeline. **

Planning 

Zoning, Official Plan, and General Property Questions 

At this time we are booking appointments for in-person property enquiries related to Zoning and Official Plan land use permissions and development standards.  These appointments are for customers needing to meet with a Planner. 

Please note that if you are enquiring about a basement apartment, deck, shed, building addition or new building, you will also need to speak with a representative from the Building Department.  Let us know in advance if you want to discuss one of these items and we can arrange to have a Building representative at the appointment.

Required Information:

  • Property address, nature of inquiry (e.g. zoning on a property, want to build a deck, want to expand my building)
  • All drawings and plans specific to your enquiry
  • Any other information specific to your enquiry

Planning Application Submissions*

(Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Subdivision, Condominium, Site Plan, Minor Variance, Sign Variance, Property Information Request, Pre-Consultation, Heritage Permit, and Pickering Village CIP Grant)

At this time we are booking appointments for the submission of the above noted Planning Applications. These appointments are for customers needing to meet with a Planner for assistance in completing an application or to submit a complete application. 

*Please note that Apron (Driveway) Widening and Curb Cut applications are not being accepted at this time.
