"When we recognize and celebrate the Town's diversity, we need to remember that there are a multitude of ways that our residents experience and move through the world. The Town of Ajax is proud to work toward breaking down barriers to access and full civic participation. Thank you to our Accessibility Advisory Committee for continually offering valuable insights and feedback about the Town's programs and services, and for arranging this year's National AccessABILITY Week's virtual offerings. I encourage all residents to attend, learn and grow with us." - Mayor Shaun Collier, Town of Ajax

"The Town of Ajax Accessibility Advisory Committee is dedicated to promoting equity, inclusion and accessibility for all Ajacians; identifying and systematically breaking down barriers. We are proud to continue this work with the support of the Town and Council, and are delighted to announce this year's seven virtual events." - Councillor Lisa Bower, Ward 3 & Accessibility Advisory Committee Member

"Over the past year, because of lockdown and social distancing, millions of able-bodied people around the world are experiencing, for the first time, how it feels to face external barriers preventing them from participating in everyday life. Covid has brought profound changes to our personal lives, business operations, and the delivery of services, in the way of social barriers, disconnection, exclusion and financial hardship; all long-standing experiences encountered by many in the disability community. The pandemic has reinforced that the need for accessibility and inclusion has never been greater." - Julia Stevenson, Accessibility Advisory Committee Member
