Residents are invited to join an uplifting, virtual celebration of our amazing community by tuning in to Canada Day the Durham Way on July 1.

From 2 to 5 p.m., this collaborative event—in co-operation with the Region of Durham and all eight local-area municipalities—will highlight unique attractions and talents that drive our vibrant arts and culture scene. This event celebrates our region and our one-of-a-kind mix of small-town hospitality and unique urban amenities; a celebration of our multicultural landscape and cultures; exciting performers; one-of-a-kind children’s activities; and musical talent.

Come together as a community—while practising physical distancing—by tuning in to this first-of-its-kind, virtual Canada Day celebration, which will be available through Facebook Live and on this page! Have family and friends around Durham? Residents can also access Canada Day portals from other regional municipalities at durham.ca/canadaday and can tune into RogersTV Durham in their local area.

Ajax Celebration Kits - Sold Out!

Thank you for your interest! The Celebration Kits are now sold out!

 

Celebrate Canada Day with your family and the Town of Ajax. Pick up a free celebration kit to get the party started! Kits include family-friendly items including playing cards, bubble wands, colouring book & crayons, sidewalk chalk and Canadian flag pins.

Pick-ups will take place on Friday, June 26 at the Ajax Community Centre - 75 Centennial Road, Ajax (Centennial Road Entrance). Pick-up will be done through drive thru with all participants respecting physical distancing requirements.

To ensure everyone's safety, kit pick-up times are being scheduled to stagger numbers. Each pick-up has a set number of registrants allowed per time slot. If the time you want is full, please select the next available time.

Please Note: Only 1500 kits are available with a limit of one kit per family. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Open to Ajax Residents only. Must provide ID with address along with registration confirmation upon pick-up.

eSports NHL20 Tournament (on PS4) – Register Now!

We've partnered with WeGotGame and other Ontario municipalities to host an Online Canada Day 6 vs 6 NHL20 Tournament on the PS4 console on July 1.

Register solo, as a partial team (min 3 players) or team up with family and friends for a full team (max of 6). The tournament will be live streamed on Twitch.tv and Youtube and will feature a live tickers, multi game view and a live commentator.

This event is FREE for all ages and will include prizes for the number 1 team! Players under the age of 18 must have consent from their guardian.

Canada Day Across the Country (1 – 2 p.m.)

Celebrate our country's cultural diversity, sporting excellence, Indigenous culture and languages, and the resilience of front-line workers.

A nod to the 40th anniversary of the national anthem "O Canada" and many surprises await you.

Canada Day Together (8 – 10 p.m.)

Hosted by Serena Ryder and Pierre-Yves Lord, this unique edition of Canada’s annual iconic celebration features original artistic collaborations between performers from coast to coast to coast, including stops in Halifax, Toronto and Vancouver.

The night winds up with a montage of the best Canada Day fireworks from past years.
