Bring the fun to your neighbourhood with our Ice Rink Program!

Colder weather and snow has arrived in Ajax, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get active outdoors! The Town of Ajax is encouraging residents to enjoy the outdoors safely with the return of our popular Winter TOA program.

To help residents stay active this winter, the Town is highlighting various outdoor activities, spaces and amenities.

Winter TOA provides safe opportunities for our residents to get outside to exercise, including:

  • Skating at Pat Bayly Square (weather dependant and no registration required!)
  • Skating at Ajax Community Centre (indoor)
  • Neighbourhood Ice Rink program available. To learn more about the program, contact Operations at 905-683-2951 or operations@ajax.ca.
  • Exploring 150 km of maintained trails & sidewalks, including our popular 7 km William A. Parish Waterfront Trail
  • Playing in one of 95 parks
  • Discovering our 925 hectares of open spaces, including outdoor fitness equipment
  • Hiking 6.5 km of trails at Greenwood Conservation Area (bring your own equipment to bird watch and cross-country ski)
  • Snowshoe Loan Program – weather dependant, expected to be available in early January.

All parking lots along the Waterfront and at Greenwood Conservation Area will be open and maintained all winter. The only exception are parking lots with permeable pavement excluding the west parking area at Paradise Park. It will remain open. The Town’s standard parking by-laws and practices will continue to be enforced.

Stay tuned to our communications and social media channels for fun videos, activities and engagement opportunities to share how you are celebrating winter in Ajax!

Quote

“Throughout the pandemic, Ajax has promoted the benefits of safe outdoor activities to support the physical and mental health of our community via our popular Active TOA program and complementary Winter TOA program. With a wide variety of activities to choose from, there is truly something for everyone, regardless of age or ability. I hope to see you out taking health breaks outdoors, and enjoying the lights at Pat Bayly Square. Remember to follow the 3W’s – wear a mask, wash your hands and watch your distance – dress for the weather, and have fun! – Mayor Shaun Collier
