Support Mayor and Council Holiday Food & Toy Drive and Toys for Tickets

Annual drive runs from November 14 to December 16

In the spirit of the holiday season, residents, businesses and community groups are encouraged to participate in the annual Mayor and Council Holiday Food & Toy Drive from November 14 to December 16. All donations will support local Ajax charities and families in need.

In addition, every person who receives a parking ticket in the Town of Ajax during the drive, may pay the fine amount by donating a new children’s toy of equal or greater value.

 Mayor and Council Holiday Food & Toy Drive

Show your support by donating any of the following items:

  • Portable phone chargers
  • Cell phone charge cords (usually for android)
  • Gift cards
  • New clothing
  • New towels
  • New linens
  • New toiletries
  • New pajamas (sizes small to XXL male and female)
  • Crafts supplies
  • Non-perishable food items
  • New Toys

Items not accepted:

  • Used toys
  • Used clothing
  • Large furniture
  • Baby furniture/equipment

Benefitting charities include:

  • Herizon House
  • The Salvation Army
  • Joanne’s House (Durham Youth Housing)

  • Ajax Town Hall, 65 Harwood Ave. S. Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday evenings 4:30 – 8 p.m. 
  • Ajax Fire Stations, 900 Salem Rd. N., 40 Westney Rd. N., 435 Monarch Ave. Weekend drops available.
  • Ajax Public Libraries
    • 55 Harwood Ave. S. (until November 30). Weekend drops available.
    • 95 Magill Rd. Weekend drops available.
    • 1955 Audley Rd. (after November 30). Weekend drops available.
  • Ajax Santa Claus Parade, Saturday, November 23, Town Hall, 65 Harwood Ave. S. 
  • Audley Recreation Centre Phase 2 Community Event, 1955 Audley Rd., Saturday November 30, 1 - 3 p.m.
  • Live with the Mayor, Audley Recreation Centre- 1955 Audley Rd., Tuesday December 3, 7 – 8 p.m.

Toy donations will only be accepted at Ajax Town Hall until Monday, December 16. 

Only new toys and toys must be unwrapped and in its original packaging. Gift Cards will not be accepted. 

Drop-off Location & Times:

Ajax Town Hall | 65 Harwood Ave. S.
Mondays: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


  • The toy’s receipt and the parking violation must be presented at the time of payment.
  • The value of the toy(s) must be equal to or more then the amount owing on the ticket (early payment if applicable). For example, if the ticket amount is $25.00, then the total value of the toy must be equal to or exceed $25.00 (including taxes).
  • Donations of more than one toy are accepted as long as the total cost is equal to or more then the ticket amount.
