A hearing cannot be booked unless a Screening Review has already occurred.
Please read your options below carefully before selecting one of the two choices.
Option 1 - Request a Hearing
If you wish to dispute the decision of the Screening Officer you can request a Hearing prior to the payment due date listed on the Screening Decision document. All hearing meetings will take place virtually between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Prior to the hearing, the Hearing Officer will review the evidence provided by the Issuing Officer (including photos), your Screening Request Package (including any submitted photos and/or documents), and the Screening Officer's Decision. The hearing will be your opportunity to explain why you are disputing the decision of the Screening Officer.
The Issuing Officer may be in attendance at the Hearing Review, or another representative (Officer, Supervisor, Manager) from the Town and may present the evidence on their behalf.
If you or your representative fails to appear on the date and time of your Hearing Review your penalty notice will be upheld and an administrative fee will be added in accordance with the Towns User Fees By-law.
Please note that the Town does not provide translation services for Hearing Reviews. If you require a language interpreter you are responsible for retaining your own, such as a friend, family member, or colleague.

Option 2 - Request an Extension of Time to Request a Hearing
If you are unable to request a Hearing to dispute the decision of the Screening Officer before the payment due date listed on the Screening Officers Decision, you have the option to apply for a Request an Extension of Time to Request a Hearing. During the application process you will be required to explain the extenuating or extreme circumstances that prevents you from filing a Hearing request on time. The Town may or may not grant the Request an Extension of Time to Request a Hearing as the decision is at the discretion of the Town.
