Option 1 - Request a Hearing
If you wish to dispute the decision of the Screening Officer you can request a Hearing prior to the payment due date on the Screening Decision document. All Hearing meetings will be in-person and located at Ajax Town Hall (65 Harwood Ave. S.). You will have the choice to select a day or afternoon /evening appointment, however, you will not be able to choose the day as these Hearings are booked welll in advance.
Prior to the hearing, the Hearing Officer will review the evidence of the issuing Officer (including photos), your Screening Request Package (including any supplied photos and/or documents), and the Screening Officer's Decision. This hearing will be your opportunity to explain why you choose to dispute the decision of the Screening Officer.

Option 2 - Request an Extension of Time to Request a Hearing
If you are unable to request a Hearing to dispute the decision of the Screening Officer before the payment due date listed on the Screening Officers Decision, you have the option to apply for a Request an Extension of Time to Request a Hearing. During the application process you will be required to explain the extenuating or extreme circumstances that limit your ability to file the Request a Hearing option. The Town may or may not grant the Request an Extension of Time to Request a Hearing as the decision is at the discretion of the Town.
