Ajax Vaccine Eligibility Update

  • Individuals six-months to under 5 years old: Pediatric Moderna Spikevax (First or second dose)
  • Individuals 5 to 11 years old: Pediatric Pfizer (First or second dose)
  • Individuals 12 to 29 years old: Pfizer (First, second or third dose)
  • Individuals 12 to 17 years old who are moderately to severely immunocompromised: Pfizer (Fifth dose)
  • Individuals 30 years and older: Moderna or Pfizer (First, second or third dose)
  • Please verify the interval between doses before attending a walk-in clinic
  • Appointments are required for fifth doses and for children six-months to under 5 years old.
  • The best way to secure your vaccine is to book an appointment.
  • COVID-19 vaccines are also available at provincial GO-VAXX mobile clinics and through participating pharmacies and designated health care providers.
  • Clinics are not open every day in all locations. Please ensure you check the 5+ clinic calendar below for dates and times.

Ajax Covid Pharmacy Vaccine Locations

Select pharmacy locations in the Durham Region are administering vaccines to individuals 5 years of age and older. Most pharmacies book appointments ahead of time and some allow walk-ins. Check with the pharmacy before you go.

As pharmacies receive doses, they will be added to the provincial website.

Provincial GO-VAXX Covid-19 Clinic Program

Covid-19 vaccines are also available for individuals five and older through the provincial GO-VAXX program. This program uses GO transit buses as vaccine clinics. These clinics are available by appointment only. We will post upcoming clinics in Ajax as they become available here.

Community Care Durham is offering FREE transportation services to community members in need of a ride to their appointment to receive their COVID-19 vaccination.

Durham Region Transit Specialized Services and On Demand
  • Scheduled Service is available on routes across the Region. Refer to durhamregiontransit.com for details, or contact a customer service representative at 1-866-247-0055 for assistance to plan your trip.

  • On Demand is a shared ride service. Customers may book through the On Demand app, or by calling call an On Demand booking agent at 1-866-247-0055.

    *Please note: On Demand service will be available from any DRT bus stop in Ajax to Williamson/Audley (bus stop) during clinic hours. Customers will be able to use the app or speak with a booking agent at 1-866-247-0055. Regular fares apply. On Demand is a shared ride service; you may share the vehicle with others travelling in a similar direction, making stops along the way.

  • Specialized Services provides public transit service for eligible persons with disabilities who are unable to use conventional transit services for all or part of their ride. Customers with a disability can travel with a support person if they are unable to use DRT services independently. A support person does not pay a fare. Registration is required.
