Please be advised that the Lakefront Footbridge (located near the Ajax Water Supply Plant - 75 Lake Driveway East) at the Ajax Waterfront will be closed from May 23 - June 19 for bridge replacement work. 

Description of work:

  • Removal and disposal of existing bridge structure
  • Trail closure to accommodate removal
  • Earth excavation for exposing abutment bearing seats
  • Installation of prefabricated painted steel truss bridge with timber deck
  • Removal and replacement of asphalt trail at bridge approach
  • Restoration

A detour route will be implemented to direct pedestrians, bicyclists, and trail users in the appropriate direction to avoid the closure.
