Ajax Signature Sign

The Ajax Signature Sign was installed in 2024 at Pat Bayly Square (55 Bayly Street West) and is the largest public art installation in the Town of Ajax, measuring approximately 8’ tall by 32’ long. Its unique design of hollow letters allows viewers to experience the sign but also see through it to enjoy the views of the Square including the fountain/ice rink. With programmable LED light features within and outlining each letter, as well as around the custom designed base, the sign illuminates this already active civic space at night, creating a vibrancy that is experienced throughout the year, including evening events such as Music in the Square in the summer or evening ice skating in the winter. The sign’s colours are also programmed as a way to recognize significant days/months which provides the Town with another visual element to raise awareness and spark conversation.
