By Mike Margach, Fitness & Health Centre Supervisor

The Fitness & Health Centre (FHC) team strives to provide a welcoming, inclusive, friendly, safe and family-like environment for members—like a second home!

We ask that members look to create the same atmosphere during their time here. Each member may have a different goal to achieve at the FHC (stress relief, weight loss, social interaction, etc.), but we can collectively strive to have a safer and more enjoyable experience.

Here are some suggestions for how we can achieve this together:

  • Be respectful of other members, and keep noise, such as banging of weights, to a minimum.
  • Liquid chalk is available to assist with a better grip. If you prefer to use powdered chalk, please keep it in a bag or container, and wipe up any excess powder from equipment and weights.
  • If you see a barbell lying on the ground, please bring it to the attention of a staff member.
  • We have taped off an area on the floor at the emergency exit of the McLean Community Centre FHC. Please keep this space clear of weights and equipment at all times.

We value each of our members as an integral part of our FHC family, and we want to work together to support everyone’s diverse fitness needs.
