The steady increase in COVID-19 cases we’ve seen – in Ajax and across the province – over the past couple of weeks is troubling.

I applaud Premier Ford and his government for taking the necessary measures to further limit gatherings in hotspot areas.

The Town is monitoring trends, reviewing our decision making and putting contingencies in place in order to ensure an agile and timely response.

Following the province’s lead, we will not hesitate to scale back facility reopenings if numbers continue to rise.

We all have a responsibility to make informed decisions, and keep our families and community safe. I strongly urge residents and business owners in Ajax to take that responsibility seriously.

  • Stay home if you’re sick.
  • Be selective and prioritize outings.
  • Everyone outside of your circle needs to wear a mask or stay 6 ft. apart.
  • Wash your hands often.

The pandemic is far from over. In order to stop the spread, we all need to be accountable to each other. We are in this together. Thank you for your cooperation.
