As of today, the province has announced that Ontario is temporarily moving back to Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen. As we move forward, the Town is continuing to take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and protection of our community and staff, while ensuring residents have a variety of ways to stay active and engaged via our popular Winter TOA and virtual programs.

Facility and service update highlights:

  • Town Hall and Operations and Environmental Services Centre are open by appointment only. Residents and businesses can book appointments with Town staff quickly and conveniently with the online booking system at
  • Ajax Community Centre, McLean Community Centre and Audley Recreation Centre are closed to the public for in-person programming and amenities (Fitness Centres, rentals).
  • Please note, the Audley Recreation Centre Vaccine Clinic remains open by appointment via   
  • Satellite facilities, including the pavilions, St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts & Culture are closed to the public.
  • The Town continues to offer virtual programming. For a complete list of programs visit  
  • Ajax Public Library remains open at reduced capacity and continues to offer programming virtually.
  • Outdoor spaces and amenities are open. Outdoor gathering is limited to 10.

Winter TOA provides safe opportunities for our residents to get outside to exercise, including:

  • Skating at Pat Bayly Square (refrigerated ice surface). Visit for details.
  • Pop-up natural ice rinks at Audley Recreation Centre & McLean Community Centre (expected to open the week of January 10 weather dependent, registration not required).
  • Neighbourhood Ice Rink Program: To learn more about the program, contact Operations at 905-683-2951 or
  • Exploring 150 km of maintained trails & sidewalks, including our popular 7 km William A. Parish Waterfront Trail.
  • Playing in one of 95 parks.  
  • Discovering our 925 hectares of open spaces, including outdoor fitness equipment.
  • Hiking 6.5 km of trails at Greenwood Conservation Area (bring your own equipment to bird watch and cross-country ski).
  • Snowshoe Loan Program (weather dependent). 

All parking lots and washrooms along the Waterfront and at Greenwood Conservation Area will be open and maintained all winter. The only exception are parking lots with permeable pavement, excluding the west parking area at Paradise Park. It will remain open. For further details on Winter TOA programming, check out

  • Covid-19 signage and protocols are installed at all Town facilities.

  • Pat Bayly Square outdoor skating is open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. (weather dependant). Call 365-885-3848 to check rink status before heading out to skate.
