The Town of Ajax recently recognized Ajax band Sum 41 on the celebration of their final tour. The Town worked with the members of the band to host an unforgettable event, exclusive to Ajax residents.   

On behalf of Ajax Council and the Town, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sum41 for joining us for this extraordinary event! Welcoming the band back home after their last concert has made a significant impact on our community and has truly elevated our Ajax pride.

Sum41 fans also gathered at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate for the Livestream Watch Party and left a special message for the band that was played during the In-person event at Ajax Community Centre. 
Commemorative Street Naming

Sum41 street naming

In recognition of the contributions of Sum 41 to the local, national and international music scene, the Town of Ajax installed a temporary renaming of Falby Court to Sum 41 Way. The band first met at Exeter High School on Falby Court in 1996. The temporary street naming sign will be in place until March 30, 2025, when the band will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the JUNO Awards.

As two-time Juno Award winners and soon to be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Sum 41 has had an astonishing career, which included several album releases, tours and making their mark in the punk rock scene for their songwriting.
