Customer service counters now open at all facilities

As the province has released Ontario’s long-term Covid-19 reopening strategy, the Town of Ajax is set to lift some public health measures and restrictions in our facilities. As we move forward the Town is continuing to take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and protection of our community and staff.

Facility and service update highlights:

  • Customer service counters are now open at all Town facilities.
  • Town Hall is open for walk-ins or by appointment, residents and businesses can book appointments with Town staff quickly and conveniently with the online booking system at ajax.ca/appointments.
  • Operations and Environmental Services Centre is open for walk-ins.
  • Effective the week of November 1, the following recreation services will operate at full capacity with no pre-registration required:

- Skating programs at the Ajax Community Centre (November 1)
- Fitness & Health Centres (FHC) at the McLean and Ajax Community Centres (November 1)
- Squash at the Ajax Community Centre (court reservation required) – November 1
- Ajax Community Centre pool, mid-week daytime lane swims (November 2)
- Audley Recreation Centre pool, public and lane swims (November 5)
- McLean Community Centre pool, public swims (November 6)
- Drop-in basketball and pickleball

  • Full capacity is allowed in spectator areas of facilities for sports and recreational fitness, as well as halls and meeting rooms (some restrictions apply for room rentals).

The following safety measures remain in effect:

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter TOA recreation facilities for patrons 12 years and older.
  • Masks must be worn in TOA facilities unless actively participating in a sport/class or exercising at a workout station in one of our FHCs, provided physical distancing is maintained.
  • Active health screening of patrons is required.
  • Please continue to respect physical distancing guidelines, when possible.

  • Covid-19 signage and protocols are installed at all Town facilities.
  • Online appointment booking makes the process of accessing in-person services at Town Hall more straightforward and easy to navigate. For more information on Town Hall appointments, call 905-683-4550, email contactus@ajax.ca or visit ajax.ca/appointments to book your appointment.
  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter Town recreation facilities and participate in Town recreation programs as part of Ontario’s new proof of vaccination system.
  • Proof of vaccination exemptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and may require documented confirmation for the requested exemption.
  • Ontarians can provide proof of immunization by downloading or printing their vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal, or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.
  • All requirements, exemptions and policies are subject to change based on provincial regulation.
