Recognition showcases the Town’s focus on modernizing the community for a cleaner and greener future

On November 13, 2024, during the Durham Greener Buildings Program Evening of Recognition event, the Town of Ajax received awards in five categories for leading the green transition and taking a proactive approach to energy efficiency.

The awards received included:

  • Best Energy Performing Large Community Meeting Centre Award — Ajax Community Centre
  • Best Energy Performing Library - Ajax Main Branch Library
  • Best Energy Performing Operations Facility Award - Ajax Operations Centre
  • Climate Leadership Award – For EnergyCAP CarbonHub
  • Best Data Quality Award

This recognition showcases the Town’s continued focus on sustainability and modernizing the community to create a cleaner and greener future for all. The participants in the program include municipalities within the region, school boards, hospitals and various other commercial and institutional buildings.
