Applicants can receive cash backon basement apartmentsgardens suites and more with the Build More, Get More Grant Program 

Those wishing to build an Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) in the Town of Ajax can now receive cash back on their builds with theBuild More, Get More Grant Program. Examples of ADUs include a basement apartment, garden suite, upstairs apartment, and a living space within an existing garage. 

The program offers applicants a fixed amount per unit, depending on the number of units constructed on their property:

Successful applicants will receive their grant after the building permit has been issued, construction is complete, and the permit is closed. 

Property owners, landlords, developersand anyone interested in building an ADU can learn more about ADUs, the grant program and the building permit processon the Town’s new online housing portal, ajax.ca/housing. 

This grant program, along with the Town’s recent Zoning By-law Amendment permitting up to four (4) units on a single property, is possible, in part, thanks to the Housing Accelerator Fund. Ajax will receive $22 million in federal funding over a four-year period to encourage the development of new housing within the Town.
