About Active and Safe Routes to School
The Active and Safe Routes to School Program aims to educate elementary school students in Ajax about walking and cycling to school safely. Implemented throughout the school year, program initiatives include a safety poster challenge, safety assemblies and the Golden Sneaker Challenge. Every Wednesday, students are encouraged to walk, cycle or take the bus to and from school in an effort to earn points as a class. The class that earns the most points each month will win a small prize and the Golden Sneaker Trophy.
