The Town of Ajax is pleased to announce the release of Phase 2 of Zoning Our Future: Comprehensive Zoning By-law Review. This Comprehensive Review of the Ajax Zoning By-law is intended to update zoning permissions and standards to align with the Ajax Official Plan, address issues, and work to implement best practices. The Town is looking to reengage residents and stakeholders in ongoing work. Your feedback and participation will help shape the Town.

A zoning by-law is a tool used to regulate how land, buildings and structures may be used and developed within the Town. It establishes permitted uses, parking standards, and regulations related to building heights and setbacks, among many other matters. It applies to all properties within the Town.

Phase 2: Technical Reports and Draft Zoning By-law Amendments

The Town has prepared a series of eight (8) Technical Reports that are divided into themes. Each Technical Report provides an assessment of proposed changes and issues, and a recommendation. The eight (8) Technical Reports are as follows:

1. Strong Neighbourhoods
2. Transportation
3. Intensification Areas
4. Employment Areas
5. Pickering Village
6. Sustainability Elements
7. Greenlands Systems
8. General By-law Review and Housekeeping

A draft Zoning By-law and an online MapViewer that illustrates all proposed changes is available on the IMO page.
